Taxonomy
Coelocoenia torulosa was named by Gerth (1923). It is extant. Its type locality is River Gelingseh, Borneo, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Gelingseh Formation of Indonesia.
It was recombined as Dichocoenia torulosa by Kühn (1933); it was recombined as Progyrosmilia torulosa by Wells (1937).
