Cardium (Papyridea) brooksi was named by Clark (1932) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene-Early Miocene; Alaska.]. Its type specimen is UCMP 30402, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP 3850 Hamilton Creek, which is in a Chattian marine horizon in the Poul Creek Formation of Alaska.
It was recombined as Clinocardium brooksi by Addicott (1971); it was recombined as Ciliatocardium brooksi by Kafanov (2002).
