Cardium (Cerastoderma) matchgarense was named by Makiyama (1934) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Russia.]. Its type specimen is IGM, Kyoto U. 100007, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Clinocardium matchgarense by Oyama et al (1960); it was recombined as Ciliatocardium matchgarense by Kafanov (2002).
