Taxonomy
Cystihalysites deplanatus was named by Volkova et al. (1978). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Baraniy River, Sette Daban Mountains, unit 33, which is in a Llandovery reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Kuranakh Formation of the Russian Federation.
