Taxonomy
Worthenia kingi was named by Batten (1989). Its type specimen is USNM 431592 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM/PU Kriz collection, Apache Canyon, Sierra Diablo, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Bone Spring Formation of Texas.
