Taxonomy
Worthenia alticarinata was named by Batten (1989). Its type specimen is USNM 431594 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM712f, Ruddy Tank, Hueco Mountains, which is in an Artinskian shallow subtidal limestone in the Hueco Formation of Texas.
