Taxonomy
Wapitiphyllum scaphense was named by Schröder (2005). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Steinbreche near Refrath, which is in a Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone/marl in the Refrath Formation of Germany.
