Taxonomy
Wapitiphyllum vallatum was named by McLean and Pedder (1984). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Overlook Peak, which is in a Frasnian shallow subtidal limestone in Canada. It is the type species of Wapitiphyllum.
