Taxonomy

Palaeopoecilostola was named by Meunier (1899).

It was assigned to Tipulidae by Carpenter (1992); and to Limoniidae by Evenhuis (1994), Kania et al. (2011), Kania and Krzemiński (2012).

Species

P. eocenica, P. fastuosa, P. longicornis (syn. Limnophila palaea, Limnophila robusta), P. parallela, P. speciosa (syn. Ryta berestiana)

Synonyms

Ryta was named by Nazarau (1994). Its type is Ryta berestiana.

It was synonymized subjectively with Palaeopoecilostola by Kania and Krzemiński (2012).

It was assigned to Limoniidae by Nazarau (1994), Evenhuis (1994).
