Taxonomy
Notocyathus euconicus was named by Squires (1962). Its type locality is S117, GS 476, 483, 486, 1341 Wharekuri, Waitaki Valley, which is in a Duntroonian coastal sandstone in the Wharekuri Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
