Taxonomy

Anaxyela was named by Martynov (1925). It is not extant. Its type is Anaxyela gracilis. It is the type genus of Anaxyelidae, Anaxyelinae, Anaxyeloidea.

It was assigned to Anaxyelidae by Martynov (1925), Rasnitsyn (1963), Rasnitsyn (1969), Carpenter (1992); and to Anaxyelinae by Rasnitsyn (1968), Taeger et al. (2010), Kopylov (2019), Gao et al. (2021).
