Taxonomy
Pleurophyllia microsa was named by Baron-Szabo (2003). It is not extant. Its type locality is Cerro La Espina, Tuape, Mexico, which is in an Aptian/Albian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Mural Limestone Formation of Mexico.
