Taxonomy
Ovalastraeopsis soaravikelyensis was named by Alloiteau (1958). Its type locality is Soaravikely, which is in a Bathonian/Callovian shallow subtidal limestone in Madagascar. It is the type species of Ovalastraeopsis.
