Taxonomy
Willimactra (Willimactra) putida was named by Saul (1973). Its type specimen is UCLA 47379, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4249, Young Ranch, which is in a Turonian marine sandstone in the Hornbrook Formation of California.
