Taxonomy
Meekia (Mygallia) takeoana was named by Saul and Popenoe (1962). Its type specimen is UCLA 36089, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CIT Loc. 1195 - Stinking Creek [Member I], which is in a Turonian coastal sandstone in the Redding Formation of California.
