Taxonomy
Meekia (Mygallia) bella was named by Saul and Popenoe (1962). Its type specimen is UCLA 36073, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4340, Pentz, which is in a Campanian marine conglomerate in the Chico Formation of California.
