Taxonomy
Thecactinastraea krimensis was named by Turnsek and Kosir (2000). Its type locality is Krim Mountain, which is in a Pliensbachian reef, buildup or bioherm bafflestone/framestone in the "Lithiotid Horizon" Formation of Slovenia.
