Azibius trerki

Taxonomy

Azibius trerki was named by Sudre (1975). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gour Lazib HGL10, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Glib Zegdou Formation of Algeria. It is the type species of Azibius.

Synonyms

Tabelia hammadae was named by Godinot and Mahboubi (1994) [type in the collections of the University of Oran]. Its type specimen is GZC-5, a tooth (m/3), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Azibius trerki by Tabuce et al. (2009).
Dralestes hammadaensis was named by Tabuce et al. (2004). Its type specimen is UOGZC-41, a tooth (left [upper] M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gour Lazib HGL10, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Glib Zegdou Formation of Algeria.

It was synonymized subjectively with Azibius trerki by Tabuce et al. (2009).
