Taxonomy
Diplaraea boltonae was named by Wells (1934). Its type locality is Catadupa, "Catadupa Beds", which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian shallow subtidal limestone in the "Catadupa Beds" Formation of Jamaica.
It was recombined as Gyrodendron boltonae by Baron-Szabo (2008).
