Spisula (Oxyperas) parinensis was named by Olsson (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Punta Balcones [Parinas Fm], which is in a Bartonian coastal sandstone/conglomerate in the Parinas Formation of Peru.
It was recombined as Oxyperas parinensis by Hendy et al. (2008).
