Taxonomy

Epyris was named by Westwood (1832). It is extant. It is the type genus of Epyrini, Epyrinae.

It was assigned to Bethyllides by Westwood (1874); to Bethylinae by Ashmead (1893), Kieffer (1905), Statz (1938); to Bethylidae by Carpenter (1992); to Epyrini by Sorg (1988), Azevedo and Azar (2012); and to Epyrinae by Azevedo et al. (2018), Colombo and Azevedo (2021), Colombo et al. (2022), Brazidec et al. (2023).

Synonyms

Isobrachium was named by Forster (1856). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Epyris by Azevedo et al. (2018), Colombo et al. (2022).

It was assigned to Bethylinae by Ashmead (1893); to Pristocerinae by Sorg (1988); to Bethylidae by Carpenter (1992); and to Epyrini by Azevedo and Azar (2012).
Rhabdepyris was named by Kieffer (1904). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Epyris by Azevedo et al. (2018), Colombo et al. (2022).

It was assigned to Bethylinae by Kieffer (1905); to Bethylidae by Carpenter (1992); and to Epyrini by Sorg (1988), Azevedo and Azar (2012).
