Taxonomy

Palaeobethylus was named by Brues (1923). Its type is Palaeobethylus longicollis.

It was assigned to Bethylidae by Brues (1923), Carpenter (1992); to Amiseginae by Sorg (1988), Martynova and Perkovsky (2017); and to Chrysididae by Perkovsky and Rasnitsyn (2013), Martynova et al. (2019).
