Indohyaenodon raoi
Taxonomy
Indohyaenodon raoi was named by Bajpai et al. (2009). Its type specimen is IITR/SB/VLM 899, a mandible (left dentary with alveolus for P/1 and crowns for P/2-M3, M/1 damaged), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vastan Lignite Mine, which is in a Ypresian lagoonal siltstone/claystone in the Cambay Shale Formation of India. It is the type species of Indohyaenodon.
