Taxonomy
Felis trumani was named by Orr (1969).
It was recombined as Acinonyx (Miracinonyx) trumani by Adams (1979); it was recombined as Acinonyx trumani by Kurten and Anderson (1980), Dalquest and Schultz (1992); it was synonymized subjectively with Miracinonyx studeri by Morgan and Seymour (1997); it was recombined as Miracinonyx trumani by Van Valkenburgh et al. (1990), Wang and Martin (1993), Albright et al. (2019).
