Lobophyllia deshayesiaca was named by Michelin (1843). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Phytogyra deshayesiaca by d'Orbigny (1850); it was recombined as Rhipidogyra deshayesana by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1857); it was recombined as Rhipidogyra deshayesi by Beauvais (1964).
