Taxonomy

Amphidesma laevis was named by Sowerby (1833) [NOMENCLATURE: Not confidence about original genus assignment.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Semele laevis by Olsson (1922), Woodring (1982).

Synonyms

Erycina turbacoensis was named by Anderson (1929). Its type specimen is CAS 4671, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS Loc. 305, Turbaco, near [Tubará Fm], which is in a Miocene marine siliciclastic in the Tubará Formation of Colombia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Semele laevis by Woodring (1982).
