Taxonomy
Bubalus cebuensis was named by Croft et al. (2006). Its type specimen is PNM 2006-A, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is K-Hill, which is in a Pleistocene/Holocene terrestrial marl in the Philippines.
