Taxonomy
Spisula albaria ramonensis was named by Packard (1916). Its type specimen is UCMP 11118, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Spisula ramonensis by Packard and Clark (1915), Clark (1918), Clark (1918), Addicott (1973); it was recombined as Mactra (Spisula) ramonensis by Durham (1944); it was recombined as Mactromeris ramonensis by Moore (2003).
