Taxonomy
Bibio latahensis was named by Lewis (1969). Its type specimen is UC Boulder J 27, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is South of Juliaetta, which is in a Langhian lacustrine - small mudstone in the Latah Formation of Idaho.
