Taxonomy
Stegopterum anteanatalis was named by Aristov (2004). Its type specimen is PIN 1631/206, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bol'shezemel'skaya tundra, Chernyshev Range, Adz'va River, which is in a Kungurian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Lek-Vorkuta Formation of the Russian Federation.
