Taxonomy

Haglidae was named by Handlirsch (1906) [also attributed to Zeuner (no date)]. Its type is Hagla.

It was assigned to Mantoidea by Handlirsch (1906); to Grylloidea by Riek (1974), Hong (1982); to Gryllidea by Sharov (1968), Whalley (1985); to Orthoptera by Hong (1986); to Ensifera by Carpenter (1992); and to Hagloidea by Gorochov (1986), Gorochov (1988), Gorochov (1995), Wappler (2001), Gorochov et al. (2006), Gu et al. (2017), Gu et al. (2021), Gorochov and Coram (2022).

Synonyms

Tshorkuphlebiidae was named by Martynov (1937). It is not extant. Its type is Tshorkuphlebia.

It was reranked as the subfamily Tshorkuphlebiinae by Sharov (1968); it was synonymized subjectively with Haglidae by Carpenter (1992), Gorochov (1995).

It was assigned to Protorthoptera by Martynov (1937); and to Haglidae by Sharov (1968).
Aboilidae was named by Martynov (1925). It is not extant. Its type is Aboilus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Prophalangopsidae by Zeuner (1939); it was synonymized subjectively with Haglidae by Sharov (1968), Carpenter (1992); it was reranked as the subfamily Aboilinae by Gorochov (1988), Gorochov (1995), Grant-Mackie et al.
