Priacma was named by Leconte (1861). It is extant. It is the type genus of Priacmini.
It was assigned to Cupedidae by Ponomarenko (1986); to Priacmini by Soriano and Delclos (2006), Tan and Ren (2009); and to Cupedinae by Kirejtshuk (2020).
