Taxonomy
Namurotypus was named by Brauckmann and Zessin (1989). It is not extant. Its type is Namurotypus sippeli. It is the type genus of Namurotypidae.
It was assigned to Tupinae by Brauckmann and Zessin (1989); and to Namurotypidae by Bechly et al. (2001), Brauckmann et al. (2003), Nel et al. (2009).
