Taxonomy
Chauliodites mongolicus was named by Aristov (2005). Its type specimen is PIN 5006/1, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Yamaan-Us (PIN collection 5006), which is in a Changhsingian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Yamaan Us Formation of Mongolia.
