Taxonomy
Pliomera martelli was named by Reed (1917). It is not extant. It is the type species of Pliomerina, Pliomeraspis.

It was recombined as Pliomeraspis martelli by Harrington (1957); it was recombined as Pliomerina martelli by Jell and Adrain (2002).
