Latocupes bellus

Taxonomy
Latocupes bellus was named by Ren and Tan (2006). Its type specimen is CNU-C-LB2005013, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Huangbanjigou, Chaomidian Village, CNU 2005 collection, which is in a Barremian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.

Tan 2006Latocupes bellusgen. andsp. nov. is distinct fromL. fortis in the mandibles wide, tridentate in horizonal cutting surface, cervical constriction distinct, elytral cells polygonal, with 3–4 black macula around its margin, approximately 42 cells form a row; first visible abdominal ventrite longer than the last one.
