Pantanellium sincerum was named by Pessagno and Blome (1980). It is not extant. Its type locality is Snowshoe Formation, Oregon, USA (Locality513), which is in a Bajocian marine mudstone/lime mudstone in the Snowshoe Formation of Oregon.
