Glypheoidea was named by Winckler (1882). It is extant. Its type is Glyphea.
It was assigned to Palinura by Collins and Wienberg Rasmussen (1992) and Feldmann and Keys (1992); to Astacidea by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2001) and Feldmann et al. (2003); to Pleocyemata by Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Glypheidea by De Grave et al. (2009), Klompmaker and Fraaije (2011) and Feldmann et al. (2015).
It was assigned to Palinura by Collins and Wienberg Rasmussen (1992) and Feldmann and Keys (1992); to Astacidea by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2001) and Feldmann et al. (2003); to Pleocyemata by Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Glypheidea by De Grave et al. (2009), Klompmaker and Fraaije (2011) and Feldmann et al. (2015).
