Taxonomy
Narkema was named by Handlirsch (1911). It is not extant. Its type is Narkema taeniatum. It is the type genus of Narkemidae.

It was assigned to Insecta by Storozhenko (1997); to Narkemidae by Handlirsch (1911), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922), Carpenter (1992), Béthoux (2005); and to Cnemidolestidae by Aristov (2014).
