Taxonomy
Architipula youngi was named by Krzemiński (1992). Its type specimen is YPM 35968, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Solite Corporation Quarry (YPM coll), which is in a Norian lacustrine - small siltstone in the Cow Branch Formation of North Carolina.
