Taxonomy

Dorylus was named by Fabricius (1793). It is extant.

It was assigned to Dorylinae by DuBois (1998), Borowiec (2016).

Anomma was named by Shuckard (1840). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Dorylus by Borowiec (2016).
Dissimulodorylus was named by Sosiak et al. (2022).

It was synonymized subjectively with Dorylus by Sosiak et al. (2023).

It was assigned to Dorylinae by Sosiak et al. (2022).
Dissimulodorylus perseus was named by Sosiak et al. (2022). Its type specimen is MCZ PALE-8463, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Copal (MCZ collection), which is in a Holocene terrestrial amber in Tanzania.

It was considered an invalid subgroup of Dorylus by Sosiak et al. (2023).
