Taxonomy
Lonsdaleia yokoyamai was named by Ozawa (1925). It is the type species of Yokoyamaella, Yokoyamaella (Yokoyamaella).

It was recombined as Yokoyamaella (Yokoyamaella) yokoyamai by Minato and Kato (1965), Kato (1972).
