Taxonomy
Saaloscytina was named by Brauckmann and Schlüter (1993). Its type is Saaloscytina perreticulata. It is the type genus of Saaloscytininae.
It was assigned to Scytinopteridae by Brauckmann and Schlüter (1993); to Saaloscytininae by Martins-Neto et al. (2006); and to Saaloscytinidae by Shcherbakov (2011), Lara and Wang (2016), Lara et al. (2021), Rasnitsyn and Gallego (2024).
