Taxonomy
Archilimonia vogesiana was named by Krzemiński and Krzemińska (2003) [Institut de Géologie de l’Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France]. Its type specimen is SMNS 9052, an exoskeleton (complete female fly), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bust, which is in an Aegean delta plain claystone/siltstone in the Grès à Voltzia Formation of France. It is the type species of Archilimonia.
