Eocercopidium maculata
Taxonomy
Eocercopis maculata was named by Zeuner (1941). Its type specimen is BMNH In 37731, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ardtun Head, Isle of Mull, which is in a Thanetian lacustrine claystone/sandstone in the interbasaltic plant-beds Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Eocercopidium, Eocercopis.
It was recombined as Eocercopidium maculata by Zeuner (1944).
