Taxonomy
Arthricocephalus was named by Bergeron (1899) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto-u Sepkoski's reference number: 463,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Arthricocephalus chauveaui.

It was assigned to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Oryctocephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
