Cekovia was named by Snajdr (1956) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde-u O Cara-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1075,1268]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Styginidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
