Taxonomy
Trupochalcididae was named by Kozlov (1975). It is not extant. Its type is Trupochalcis.

It was reranked as the subfamily Trupochalcidinae by Rasnitsyn (1980), Johnson (1992).

It was assigned to Proctotrupoidea by Rasnitsyn (1975); to Austroniidae by Rasnitsyn (1980), Johnson (1992); and to Microprocta by Rasnitsyn and Öhm-Kühnle (2020).
