Taxonomy
Shurabia ovata was named by Martynov (1937). Its type specimen is PIN 53/16, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Shurab II, Ditch 63(8) (PIN collection 53, which is in a Toarcian terrestrial horizon in the Sulyukta Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
