Taxonomy
Palaeontinopsis latipennis was named by Martynov (1937). Its type specimen is PIN 2764, a tegmen (only membrane), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Shurab II, Ditch 52 (PIN collection 2746), which is in a Toarcian terrestrial horizon in the Sulyukta Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
